Product details:

The sheer utility of mountain bike shoes should encourage all of us to have at least one pair in our closets. Whether you are a hard core fan of the knobby tires or just want to be able to take bike rides where you can still walk around a little, the Fizik M6B Uomo Shoes will give you all the high performance you need while having the tread you'll want to walk around comfortably. Though these are technically the 'budget” pair of Fizik mountain bike shoes, don't think you're getting some down-market level of technology. The M6B are made from the same breathable Microtex material that makes the top line racing shoes so comfy. It has been reinforced so that it can take the sort of wear and tear that is typical of single track excursions. Sections of nylon mesh are integrated to help keep the shoes well aired even when you are hiking your bike up a ravine in the middle of summer. To get the perfect fit, Fizik has combined a BOA IP1 single closure system with two more traditional Microtex Velcro straps. The BOA essentially closes the top portion but does so much more evenly than common ratchet systems. Then the Microtex straps allow you to adjust and moderate how tightly you secure the lower portions of the shoe so that you won't have to worry about cutting off blood to your tootsies. The carbon-reinforced nylon midsole gives the shoe the sort of rigidity that is essential for efficient pedaling, but is not so stiff that you will have foot fatigue setting in after a day in the saddle, and will make walking in them much easier. In fact, if you are planning on a cycling tour in France or Italy, and will be looking to have the ability to walk around the towns you are visiting, these would be a perfect option not only because they are so comfortable to walk in with their rubber treaded outsole, but because they have an understated design that does not scream MAMIL too loudly. In size 42.5, the M6B weigh 385 grams.
